Horses, horses, why horses?

"Horses embody majesty, freedom of self expression, passion and endurance, to me they have a great philosophy of life .
My horse sculptures deal with life’s challenges. And are abstract so that each person can see their own story in them,
Life should not be dictated by convention but free to allow the spirit within to grow.

Horses lend us the wings we lack  - Unknown

I heard a neigh.  Oh, such a brisk and melodious neigh as that was!  My very heart leaped with delight at the sound.

3. tir na nog or wisdom of beauty

Picture
The large lady offers an apple to the horse to entice him to bring her to the land of eternal youth,
the horse thinks about what happened to Adam when he ate the apple!
The circle of life is symbolised by the apple, the plaits on the mane and the bun on the lady’s hair.

- When you are young your beauty is outward
- When you are mature your beauty is within.
Be happy in the moment.

12. take me to the moon

In the quiet light of the stable, you hear a muffled snort, a stamp of a hoof, a friendly nicker.
Gentle eyes inquire “How are you old friend?” and suddenly, all your troubles fade away.

13. horse & mare

A life without horses, is like a breath without air.

14. the thinker

Picture
"The sculpture is a take on Rodin’s sculpture ‘The Thinker’, which is taken to portray Philosophy – love of wisdom.
This The horse is meditating on life and its challenges.
The light of life or the solutions to life’s problems are bursting forth with great potential.
Alternatively this is a sculpture of a horse scratching its nose – a solution to another of life’s challenges."
